Champions League Favourites – Who Has the Most Chances to Win?

With the Champions League entering its quarter final stage, it is already time to talk more seriously about the favourites. We have had some pretty interesting results up till now and saw some teams already departed the competition that we thought would go deep. Inter Milan being one of them, but they were eliminated by Atletico Madrid in the Round of 16.

With eight teams remaining, there are only a few Champions League favourites left that went over the gauntlet till now. Time to put our thinking hats on and see which team has the biggest chance to win the most coveted football trophy in Europe.

Manchester City (England)

The current champion is the ultimate favourite to repeat and capture their second Champions League trophy in history. They have the biggest Champions League winner odds simply due to the fact that they haven’t lost any of their games so far. Not only that, but they won every single game during the competition.

With six wins during the group stage and two more against Copenhagen in the elimination stage, the Citizens have a chance to become the next team to win two titles in a row after Real Madrid in the 2016/17 season.

Arsenal (England)

Believe it or not, the Gunners have managed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the first time after the 2009/10 season. They ended their campaign seven times in a row in the Round of 16. They reached the quarterfinals last time during the 2017/18 season.

Now they are back and doing well. So well that they are among the favourites to win Champions League. Mikel Arteta is steering the Arsenal ship so well that they are contending on two fronts. However, the Premier League remains their ultimate goal.

Real Madrid (Spain)

Los Galacticos are always in the mix of favourites for Champions League. The most winninest team in the competition’s history has a legitimate chance of adding one more trophy to their cabinet. Their intention is making it 15. After winning their most recent one in 2022 by defeating Inter Milan in the final.

Similarly to Man City, Real Madrid is undefeated this year in the Champions League. However, compared to them, they have a single draw. They won seven games and drew only once against RB Leipzig in their last Round of 16 game. They will be playing City in the quarterfinals, meaning that one major favourite faces elimination earlier than expected.

Bayern Munich (Germany)

Whenever you ask the question – Who are the favourites to win the Champions League? Chances are that you are going to get Bayern Munich as one of the answers. The situation is no different this year, even though the Bavarians are not playing under Thomas Tuchel as expected.

Nevertheless, they are doing well in the Champions League, hence them being categorised as one of the Champions League favourites. They went undefeated in the group stage, drawing only once in six games. They lost their first game versus Lazio in the Round of 16. But managed to overturn the result at home and qualify for the next round.
