Girona Football Club Transfers – Savio to City Rumours
By When you come to think of it, there’s no end to new, young, and talented players appearing on transfermarkt. One of the current members of Girona Football Club, Savio, has recently been rumoured to leave this club.
The young Brazilian can play on either flank and can also be an attacking midfielder. Looking at his abilities, it is no wonder that other clubs wish to bring this guy to their squads.
What seems odd here is that the pretender number one to do so is Man City. It may sound silly, but City is owned by the same company as Savio’s current club, Troyes, and the club he’s on loan at, Girona.

The 19-year-old Brazilian is part of the Girona football team at the moment. He made appearances for this club many times during this La Liga season. In fact, Savio scored a couple of goals and made a couple of assists during this season. This was enough for Manchester City to fire up and show interest in this player.
As mentioned, it was Troyes who loaned Savio to Girona. Now, the neat part here is all three clubs belong to the same holding company called City Football Group Limited (CFG). In general, there are two main options for CFG.
The first one is to transfer Savio to Man City, while the other is to sell him and make a profit. The confusing thing here is that if this player’s worth keeps going up every season, and him switching clubs within the CFG group does not count as a real transfer, does that then make the CFG clubs breach the financial fair play?
This question brought confusion among many fans. On top of that, the chances that this will be one of the Girona transfers within the CFG group are not so low. More specifically, Savio himself said that his final destination was Man City. He also pointed out that the CFG was a very good project and that he would like to stay within its boundaries.
No one still really knows what the officials have to say about such a delicate situation. If, by any chance, the CFG decides to sell Savio, I think that many other clubs will join the race to get him.
Did Any Other Team Try To Take Savio Away From Girona Football Team & City?
Up until now, there were rumours about clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid wanting to bring Savio in. Moreover, Barca’s sporting director, Deco, has allegedly held talks about Girona transfers involving Savio. Another club that showed up as a serious contender for signing this young player was Tottenham.
The Spurs’ very latest form is far from good. In addition, Postecoglou wanted to sing a player that would be Son’s helping hand. After the rumours that appeared in early October this year saying that Savio could leave Girona football club and join Tottenham, no additional moves have been made by the Spurs’ officials.
