Europa League Continuation Finally Confirmed
We finally have some good news as Europa League will continue in August. The dates and fixtures have been finally set and it seems that we are going to see the end of the competition go through.
As a reminder, the UEFA Europa League has been on a three-month-long hiatus due to the COVID-19 outbreak since 12 March.
It was decided that quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and the finale itself are going to be held in Germany. Actually, there are four chosen cities, Cologne, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, and Gelsenkirchen, that will host the final matches. Note that all of the games are going to be played as single-leg matches.
The quarter-finals fixtures will be played on August 10 and 11, followed by the semi-finals on August 16 and 17, The Europa League final will be played on August 21 at Cologne Stadium.
As for the remaining last-16 fixtures, set for August 5 and 6, there is still no confirmation about the venues. The idea is that they are all played out at their respective stadiums with the winners advancing to the final tournament in Germany. Additionally, the Europa League draw will also be held soon.
All of the final matches are going to be played without crowds in attendance.
