UEFA Europa League – Matchday 4 Expectations

By on November 23, 2020 0 1564Views

42 teams face off once more in 12 groups of 4 in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League. Here is what we can expect on Matchday 4, played on November 26.

Group A

Roma is currently at the top and they are facing CFR Cluj again. Considering their last meetup ended in 5-0 for Roma, we predict at least 2 goals and a victory for Roma. We also expect the Young Boys to defeat CSKA Sofia once more.

Group B

The match between Arsenal and Molde is most likely going to put the Gunners out of everyone’s reach. They already have a winning streak shared by only three other teams and this win will get them 12 points. Rapid Wien and Dundalk could go either way. Rapid’s only victory came from 4-3 against the Lillywhites.

Group C

Things are more dynamic and difficult to predict in this group. Slavia Praha is barely at the top and they are facing Nice. Leverkusen has a shot of reaching the top after their meetup with Hapoel Beer-Sheva.

Group D

Rangers are going to get a shot at rectifying the draw against Benfica on Thursday. They need to tone down their aggression and amp up their control. Still, it could be a loss for them this time. Standard Liège has not won a single point thus far, so there is no reason to believe things are going to change in their match against Lech Poznan.

Group E

Granada has an advantage against AC Omonia. They can’t risk a draw, especially as PAOK’s only victory against PSV is likely to repeat itself.

Group F

Napoli had the good fortune of meeting up against Rijeka. Rijeka has an impressive defense, but it did not help them in the least this season. AZ Alkmaar already defeated Real Sociedad once. They have to do it again to keep their top placement.

Group G

Braga has a shot of redeeming itself against Leicester. However, that is only what it is – a shot. Considering their last match ended with 4-0, it is far more likely that Leicester is going to leave others behind. Like Arsenal, Leicester has not lost a match yet here. AEK Athens is definitely going to beat Zorya Luhansk, which could put them in second place.

Group H

Lille faces off against AC Milan. Lille has a slight advantage, given the last clash of the two teams. However, Milan could turn things around. Sparta Prague should have no problems against Celtic.

Group I

Villarreal is the third team with an unbroken winning streak and they are likely going to keep it that way. Maccabi Tel Aviv lost by 4 goals earlier this month, so we may just see a replay of that match. Sivasspor already beat Qarabag once, but it is a question of whether they can do it again. We predict a draw.

Group J

Tottenham, Antwerp, and LASK are all tied with 6 points. However, the Spurs are facing Ludogorets. We predict this will keep them at the top. LASK could get to second place if they beat Antwerp again. They previously won with a man down, but the match could go either way.

Group K

Dinamo Zagreb may not stay at the top for long. Their opponents – Wolfsberg, are right behind them. So is Feyenoord, facing CSKA Moscow. There is no telling how the scoreboard is going to look after this.

Group L

Hoffenheim is the last team that has not lost a match this season. As they defeated Liberec with 5-0 and they are the opponents again, things seem predictable to say the least. Gent might beat Crvena Zvezda, though that might not move them away from the bottom of the group.
